One thing is certain;
Renault used nice names for its products. Many of those names have a
certain meaning or are derived from other well-known things. Because the
type names are in French, they sound marvellous. Even types names
containing a numeral, or names of numerals and characters sounded
perfect. For example Renault 4, in French ‘Quatre’. Sounds good, isn’t
it. In Dutch it is a bit more simple: Renault ‘vier’. An advantage
the French have thanks to their language. For the Dutch it remains
difficult. I will try to explain
the meaning of some names in this section.
