Simply said car jump is neither more nor less than driverless cars jumping. To enable the car to jump the steering wheel of the car needs to be chocked up. Declutching is done by means of a stick; the engine is started and locked on full throttle. The car is putted into gear and push-started. When the car has enough speed the stick on the clutch will be removed with a rope and the car moves ahead without a driver. The car drives up a hill, via a lane that is fenced-off with crash barriers and covered with layers of rubber. After reaching the top of the hill the car’s engine is turned off by a security mechanism, so the car cannot drive further after touchdown. The higher the car’s speed on the hill top, the further the car will be able to jump. The car bridging the greatest distance wins the contest. « La course de camion sur terre, » or scoot about through sand with trucks. In June every year (since 1986) several crosses for trucks are organized in France. There are four categories; camion léger (>5ton), camion standard (2-wheel-drive, max 18.500cc, serial-production), camion cross (4x2 or 4x4 drive, small adaptions on the turbo and fuel injection) and the super camion cross (4x2 or 4x4 completely tuned up). The crosses take place on  oval tracks in several variations, with a lenght of 805 metres .  Renault joins in many times, and the fuss is tremendous…...
