Concept
cars or show cars are car prototypes, made to showcase a concept, new styling,
technology and more. They are study models for research into esthetical design,
technological and functional innovations. All kind of ideas have been
assimilated into these models. The aim is to use the final solutions in the
serial production of cars. The concept car is a kind of dream car with small
touches of reality. Everything is possible within a concept car, but only very
little of it will come to light again in the mass-produced models. Various
colours and materials are used within these design studies. Many study models
are made for studying the environmental effects, so that the findings can be
applied in the near future. Electric cars, hybrid-electric and fuel cell cars
are examples of newly developed techniques. Throughout the years, Renault has
made whole series of these cars, ranging from cross-country vehicles to
limousines, from city cars to sports cars, and from multi purpose vehicles to
alternative fuel vehicles. Every car has its own function: come and discover
this futuristic world. Science fiction.... or foreseeable
